[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Our favorite part of this job is thoughtfully expressing culture and style for people who with multi-layered identities. It means understanding not only our customer’s tastes, but also their preferences, identities and the etiquette and customs they want to include from all parts of their background. This is the kiln in which marriages are forged from love and the melding of backgrounds, communities and personalities. And we love our role in that process of artfully bringing together the details of each couple’s lives! #lovewhatwedo #sograteful
Brooklyn couple Alefiyah and Vilas envisioned a wedding replete with culture, romance, and nature – surrounded by their closest family and friends and asked us to create custom wedding invitations for the big day. The bride and groom are both Indian American but are from two different faiths – with many international guests traveling from abroad to New York City. They wanted to honor their Indian Hindu & Muslim backgrounds (and families) in their wedding while still representing their American style and tradition in a way that is true to who they are.
To do this, they chose their vendors carefully to help them bring the vision to life at the urban Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. We were honored to collaborate with the bride, Alefiyah, to create an architecture inspired wedding invitations and stationery that embodied their vision and honored their guests.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_images_carousel images=”4368,3684,3568″ img_size=”large” autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4338″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The inspiration for the custom designs came from Islamic architectural motifs and structures including lattice screens known as Jali that beautify and protect edifices of notable historic building in India. The suite came to life on pillowy white quadruple thick Italian card stock paired with a rich gold satin laser cut jali pocket fold and a vermillion envelope printed in gold screen. The design was layered and textured to leave a memorable impression on the recipient. We wanted the piece to make a multi-layered impression that was felt from the weight and texture of the paper and the impression of the printing to the striking color palette and unique design motifs.
Blind ( white) letterpress, printing was used to add dimension to the edges of the wedding invitation, with champagne gold foil typography. The additional inserts, for the Mehendi and Sangeet events and for information and website address were stamped in silver and copper foil. with a laser cut finish, each suite was custom printed and made just for Alefiyah & Vilas.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4371″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The bridal party was completely adorned in gold in this elegant yet natural setting, so the architecture inspired wedding invitation suite was a perfect compliment to their attire! For their wedding day paper, the couple asked us to create round menus for their garden buffet reception dinner. Menus are very helpful, even when serving a buffet, because they cut down on each guest’s time a t the buffet and make the wait as each table is called, much more enticing. We used matching typography and color to list all the different menu items that guests could select from in each category. We also created matching table number, signage with signature his & hers cocktails as well as signage to let guests know the hashtag for wedding photos posted on social media. Everything matched perfectly and the details that this couple put their hearts into, made all the different. The decor of the entire wedding, from florals and table settings to the location and stationery, reflected a clean, modern, inviting feel combined with thoughtful elements of culture and of location. The beautiful Brooklyn Garden wedding felt like a global mix of New York with an Indian and a Dubai flair!

I was so flattered to get this super sweet review from the Bride.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”3024″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]“We just wrapped up our wedding and wanted to send over a huge THANK YOU to Andaleeb for helping create the most beautiful invitations and day-of-stationery! Stationery was extremely important to me and I wanted a custom letterpress design that was classic, elegant, and tasteful. I had some ideas in mind and Andaleeb was the one who helped craft the vision and create a piece that was truly remarkable.
I worked with Andaleeb over the course of almost 8 months to develop the design, get the invitations printed, and develop the day-of stationery. She is extremely talented and has a beautiful design aesthetic. I had a few different ideas in mind and Andaleeb took it to the next level by bringing in her creativity. She has the ability to bring together colors, styles, techniques, fonts, types of paper, shapes, etc. to create a uniquely crafted product. I was constantly amazed by Andaleeb’s creative vision!
Furthermore, Andaleeb was extremely patient and responsive. She answered all of my many questions and made specific modifications as needed to the design in a timely manner. She also went above and beyond to help add in elements of the design that I was really excited about like the laser-cut folio and the edge printing.
Each one of our guests loved our wedding invitations and we have Andaleeb to thank for helping us make a great first impression with our guests. One of our guests even said that the invitations set a high bar for the upcoming wedding itself!
Andaleeb has a great eye for design and a high standard of quality and you will not be disappointed by working with her.”
